… an ancient palace from the Spanish colonial era intended for use as a monastery.
Sofitel President Palace Hotel
The Sofitel President Palace Hotel in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, has one hundred rooms, two bars, one indoors and one by the pool, a restaurant, a disco and banquet halls.
The project is a reuse and extension of the pre-existing building, an ancient palace from the Spanish colonial era intended for use as a monastery. The work plan developed in continuity with the characteristics of the original structure. The rooms derive from an essential arrangement of the existing spaces, while the public spaces (hall and restaurant), service spaces (kitchen and technical rooms) and entertainment spaces (swimming pool, disco and lounges) are housed in the new bodies.
